Repair Weak and Crumbling Jaws

A bone graft is an oral surgery procedure that may be required if you need to have a tooth extracted or improve your bone width, height, or density to aid in dental implant placement.  During a bone graft, we place a piece(s) of bone (allograft) where they are needed in your mouth to achieve the desired result. Also, we can utilize artificial bone material from the highest-quality manufacturers. As a result, your jawbone grows together with the grafted bone tissue, creating a stronger, more stable foundation.

You may need a bone graft if your bone density is insufficient to support a dental implant or another type of treatment. While bone grafts are most commonly needed for implants, they may also be required for certain types of periodontal therapy when the bone is weakened by gum disease.

Houlik Family Dentistry for Bone Grafting

After a tooth is lost or extracted, the jaw bone begins to shrink at the site. Therefore, this must be corrected before the dental implant is placed.
